Being Content
Being Content
Philippians 4: 11-12
11:“Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to get along happily whether I have much or little.
12: I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little”.
Apostle Paul shares with the Church in Philippians about being Content with what they had and craving or having a greed for something that they did not have. Is it possible to be content in the midst of hardship and suffering? The answer is Yes, we can be content with what we have in our life even in the midst of hardship and sufferings.
We need to realize that whatever blessings we have in our life comes from Jesus and without His knowledge we do not get anything. Psalms 37:16 says “It is better to be godly and have little than to be evil and posses much”. Having the fear of God and possessing the little blessing from God is peaceful in our lives. 1 Corinthians 7:20 speaks of continuing in the way God has called us to be. Living our life in the same life style that God has called to be living is the mark of being content. The mark of Christian Lifestyle is being content with what we have got. Contentment is the wealth that we can posses in our life. We may have needs, desires, dreams that we would long to have in our life. If we can lay it at the feet of Jesus and ask God to grant it at His own time God will grant us according His will our desires. 1Timothy 6:6 says “Yet true religion with contentment is great wealth”.
Friend, regardless of our dreams, goals and ambitions that we have in our life lets learn to be content with what God has given us and His blessing will come by its own at His own time and His own will.
God bless.
