A season for Love
Most of us during Christmas are caught up with the festivity that we ourselves forget that it is not about us but the Saviour who was born. Jesus was born in this world for a cause and it was to accomplish that cause that He came into this world. Jesus was born for a cause and the cause is to the destroy the works of the devil. Indeed he overcame the devil and He conquered death and the grave and he reigns victoriously.
But many of us are still in the works of the devil. We are so much caught up the festivity that we are not able to understand the meaning of Christmas at all. Christmas is a celebration of not the birth but the cause of His birth. The cause of His birth is mentioned in 1 Peter very clearly. 1 Peter 3:8b The Son of God appeared for this purpose, that He might destroy the works of the devil. [NASB]
Friends, Just think of this. When Jesus came to this world His only idea was to destroy and to finish the works of the devil to an end. There on the cross of Calvary he finished it and He victoriously proclaimed saying "it is finished".
Sadly we still don't understand it and for many it has become only a celebration. Our celebrations has become so selfish that we don't even realize that our hearts have grown cold due to stubbornness of having the gifts and surprises to ourselves. Today it has only become a saying that Christmas is a time to love and share and gift each other. So let us all learn to gift the greatest and most valuable gift of all time that is Love.
God bless you all and a merry Christmas.
Rencin Matthew
