No Troubled hearts
John 14:1 “Let not your heart be troubled, believe in God; believe also in me”.
The above statement is made by Jesus after the Passover. Jesus knew who would betray Him. Jesus offered love to His betrayers to demonstrate the power of forgiveness. Jn 13:26-27. Jesus knew His future and He also knew the trial and the troubles that He was about to face in few hours. But the disciples were troubled and worried. Peter was even willing to go with Jesus to the extent of death. Jesus knew that His hour of death was nearing. Through all these Jesus says to His disciples “let not your heart be troubled, believe in God and believe in me”.
a. Troubled hearts
Whom do we believe? Whom do we trust? Friends, is our heart troubled looking at the problems? Are you troubled looking at the trials in your life? Remember to believe in Jesus. The first point that I would like to highlight is “troubled hearts”. Believing is having hope. And when hope differs our heart tents to be troubled and weary. Pro 13:12 our hope should be in Jesus. Jesus had confidence in Himself. He knew He could bear the sins and burdens of this world. “when hope differed it makes the heart sick”. When we lose hope we are losing our purpose and our ambition. Jesus is our hope of glory. Titus 2:13. We have a blessed hope. The glorious appearing of our Jesus Christ. Troubles come as a test from God and also from devil. But troubles should not shake our faith. We need to be strong and not shake our faith. Be strong in the hope that God has given us..
b. Believe in God
Jesus said believe in God. Jesus was encouraging His disciples to look up to God who is our deliverer. Jer 7:23. Believing in God comes when we obey the voice of God and walk in His ways. When we walk according to His ways God will lead us into the good. Saul disobeyed God’s commandment and he lost his kingdom. Samuel warned him saying obedience is better than sacrifice. 1 Sam 15,22,23. When problems come we need to learn to trust God with our whole heart. Rom 10:10,11. No matter what our heart is going through in our life, if we only believe, then all things shall come to pass in our life. Is 42:16
Dear friends,
Jesus also said “believe in me”. We are blessed and chosen generation. When we believe in Jesus we are blessed. Jn 20:29. Jesus has the power to clam your troubled heart. No matter what problems you are going through come to Jesus and He will give you peace and rest. Matt 11:28. The thief on the cross was counted faithful cause of his belief in Jesus Christ. Jn 11:2 &Jn 11:40. Let us give our life to Jesus and believe in God and trust Him with our whole life. He is the captian and we the ships journeying in the sae known as life.
God bless,
